(Senior) Cyber Innovation Consultant for Corporate Underwriting, MR UKGB (London)(m/f) *

Working as part of a corporate Cyber function, where we set the global strategy for our cyber insurance business, this newly created role will provide technical support to the cyber innovation ecosystem within Munich Re, in particular our innovation scouts located on the ground in Tel Aviv and Silicon Valley.  Based out of London, UK, and reporting directly to the Global Head of Cyber, the successful candidate will be a recognized cyber risk expert, who has experience of the innovation lifecycle, and has worked with cyber start-ups.

  • To support the innovation scouts by quickly understanding the technical nature of the start-up offering, and mapping that to the Munich Re cyber insurance strategy and roadmap
  • Help those based in Tel Aviv and Silicon Valley with the ideation process to allow start-ups to identify, define and refine business outcomes and/or technical solutions
  • To understand and interpret the business objectives, goals and targets into a tangible deliverable
  • To build up a cyber insurance network with cyber incubators and investigate InsurTech opportunities, especially in London
  • Working closely with the cyber consultants in the team to help deliver cyber projects
  • Prepare presentations and participate at cyber insurance events, and cyber Meet-Ups
  • Liaising with the internal Business Units to manage their requirements and ensuring their support for proof of concepts
  • Giving external technical presentations at start-up events for cyber risk, and cyber insurance
  • Frequent travel to Tel Aviv and Silicon Valley (circa 50%)
  • University degree in IT, mathematics or equivalent qualification with several years of professional experience
  • At least seven years of experience in cyber risk and the cyber start-up scene
  • Previous experience of working within financial services; preferably insurance
  • Experience in innovation and product development highly desirable
  • Practical experience of development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Agile) desirable
  • Experience with venture capitalists, startup funding models
  • Ownership and good balance between hunger for business and risk awareness
  • Enjoy working with innovative questions in a very dynamic and challenging environment
  • High degree of service orientation
  • Very good analytical and quantitative skills (e.g. market analysis, cost-benefit analysis, business case development etc).
  • Experience with and interest in preparing and giving technical presentations (internal and external).
  • Strong teamwork skills and knowledge-sharing culture.
  • Willingness to travel extensively on business.
  • Good negotiating skills.
  • Fluent spoken and written business English essential, additional language skills a plus, (in particular German)
